15.1.14 Double Standards - Fucking School Attendance Dilemmas

Case Number One

A family of five managed to spend a week together in Rhodes last September, after five years of not having a holiday.  It was booked and paid for almost a year beforehand, and the summer holiday dates were not feasible because of the father's job.  The three children spent quality time with parents; all three are doing well and have never had time off like this before.  However, a new set of rules came into force in September, and the parents are due in court, facing up to 3 months in prison and a fine of £720 because they were not entitled to take the kids out of class.  The supposed flexibility where the Head decided on exceptions is now gone, and the law has stepped in.  Where cuntish parents fuck their kids about, or fuck the school about, then this sort of power may be needed and appropriate.  Where kids themselves are a fucking disaster and play truant, there are reasonable grounds for demanding some parental input and a level of support for the education system.  However, when a normal family decides to enjoy a week together for the first time in years, and miss one poxy week of school, it is disgusting that the consequences are as described above.  It's sad that the way around the 'system' is to lie and claim illness, which would then mean the school had no say in the whereabouts of the kids.

Be warned parents - it is now sensible to teach your kids that lying is the answer, because the 'system' sucks and fucks people over.  Go on holiday, deny you've been anywhere, and maintain you were ill.  Parents, write sick notes and you'll be fine.  Being honest does NOT pay.  Nobody should miss term time.

Case Number Two

A headmistress and her assistant spend £2500 of school funds, taking a week-long trip to California in school time.  The jaunt was allegedly an 'educational trip'.  Even colleagues condemned the trip as a scandalous waste of money, and claimed that online research could have been a suitable means to research the 'project-based learning' stuff.  Fucking off in term time is apparently okay - for some.

Disgusting double standards.
