19.12.12 Football Update

Marouane Fellaini

Anyone who watched his efforts at Stoke on Saturday will have seen proof that he's a thug, and a nasty piece of work.  Not for nothing is he the player with the worst record in the Premiership for discipline.  Actually, he's not quite top of the table compiled after counting up points for fouls, yellow cards and red cards.  Grant Holt pips him to the top, but ONLY because Fellaini wasn't sent off last weekend for any one of three separate events.

That means that he did not collect points for a red card, despite the retrospective ban for three games.  And on this point, I'd like to register what complete cocks the people in charge are.  How on earth can standards in the game be improved if, with 100% proof of thuggery, the ban is just three games when it could have been 6, and in theory even 9.  Joey Barton got a 12-match ban.  Fellaini should at the very least be sidelined for 6 games.  There are far too many players fouling, diving, tackling dangerously, cheating, swearing and being complete cunts.  Until the establishment sorts out the behaviour, then the game continues to be fucked, and spoilt.  I believe that Everton has imposed a fine of £150,000, no doubt what Fellaini is paid for two weeks of 'effort'.  Oh dear, his month's payslip will show £150,000 instead of £300,000.  Ob-cuntin-scene.

Irony

As Chelsea continues to be a club in a right mess, I read today that Roberto di Matteo has collected his award in Switzerland for "Coach of the Year".  How weird is the world of football.  Matteo has being ejected by Abramovich, Benitez has been brought in so he can speak to Torres in Spanish and ask the nob to start earning his extortionate wages and prove that he's worth at least a small percentage of the £50million paid for him.  Meanwhile, Lampard is moaning that he's no longer seen as a key component after spending 12 years at the club.  I'm sure he'll move on to pastures new shortly, to collect £200,000 per week from a club with more money than sense.  Terry is just baggage that brings nothing to the club but grief.  So, RDM does the impossible and wins the Champions League in May, and has now been moved on.  As he collected his award, he must have considered the irony.  Back home, Benitez (who some time ago vowed never to manage Chelsea) was chewing on some chorizo at the side of a training pitch, as an assistant was waving a red flag at Torres, trying to get his attention and goad him into running.  The next step in the programme is apparently to introduce him to the things at each end, where the grass runs out, and demonstrate that kicking a ball within the framework means the netting can collect it.

Gum Chewing

There's no change at the top of the Wrigley's Premier League, and the two main chompers are running away with things.  They have a clear lead, and without Roberto di Matteo in play at the moment, it's likely that both will automatically quality for Europe next year.

1   Alex Ferguson
2   Sam Allardyce

Unless RDM makes a speedy comeback, I fear there'll be no serious competition for Alex and Sam.  Meanwhile, the places in the Evian Europa League look like going to Martin O'Neill (who drinks more water than anyone in the sport) and David Moyes, who's being keeping just ahead of Tony Pulis.

Balotelli

Manchester City may have at last come to acknowledge that the team is better off without Mario Balotelli in it.  With luck, he'll be nudged towards Italy in January where he can throw a strop every few minutes and blend in with the rest of the Italian players, whatever team he joins.

Blatter Bollocks

Sepp Blatter will come to regret allowing Russia to host the 2018 World Cup.  The racist element of Russian football supporters has announced its demand for no black players, and it has gone further by also stating it wants no gay players to be signed.  Zenit St Petersburg.  "Landscrona" is the supporters organisation that constitutes the biggest following and it has reacted angrily to the club signing a Brazilian player.  Corruption is rife in Russian football, and it's hardly appropriate for a World Cup to be hosted by Russia.  Elsewhere, Serbia has been fined a paltry £65,000 [so, just half of what Fellaini was fined] for its attrocious racist taunts a couple of months ago when England's Under-21 team played there.  So, Blatter is useless and not fit to be in charge, UEFA is fucking useless, and the FA is fucking awful.

Wenger

It seems every man and his dog has got something to say about Arsenal, and about Arsene Wenger - not much of it complimentary or helpful.  I just think the man should be left alone.
