4.4.12 Colin Murray Defence

Leave the fucking man alone!  The media seem to be having a go at Colin Murray because of a comment he made on Match of the Day 2 on Sunday.  I watched the programme, and heard him make the comment which has landed him in hot water.  His comment was one which I too would have made in his position, and his view is one that will have been considered by many already.

Pepe Reina squared up to a Newcastle player, James Perch, who'd given him a slight kick.  Reina got rather too close, and stuck his head in his rival's face.  Now, I do not believe there was any real contact, but like a tree felled by a Canadian lumberjack, Perch fell to the ground, while clutching his face.  Perch was booked for the kick, and Reina was sent off for the 'headbutt'.

Professional footballers, in the main, are hardly blessed with integrity, and many are simply thugs and/or conmen.  They all deserve whatever they get, because the game is tainted with prima donnas.  These overpaid blokes are forever diving, spitting, pushing, swearing, conning and moaning.  They are pathetically knocked over by the flimsiest of tackles, or are instead maiming their opponents with studs on a leg at 20mph.  They play-act, and prove themselves wimps - and show they are 100 evolutionary steps short of the development needed to match rugby players.

Murray said, by way of a question to Mark Lawrenson and Jason Roberts: "When you get sent off for that type of lame headbutt, do you regret not sticking the head in anyway?"

This was an amusing comment, and one that probably represents the exact mindset of an average player and of an average fan.  The writhing around by Perch could not have been any more vigorous if Reina had headbutted him with a force to match that of a parrot's beak closing [up to 350 pounds per square inch] so he may as well have given him something to writhe about!

As for Murray, will you self-righteous cunts in the media leave him alone, and will the hoards of armchair cunts stop finding pathetic reasons to complain to the BBC.
