Why can't people just say it how it is? This bloke is simply not a nice individual. In most games you'll see him elbow players, and/or block them with purposeful force. Football is at its best when players play with the ball, and not when their attentions are completely diverted by other players and how to get an unfair advantage.
There is endless holding, pushing, whinging and moaning, appealing and acting, with dissent sprinkled everywhere. The who sport is tainted to buggery, and there should be no sympathy really; the game has turned to shit. There are, though, some decent players and decent people within the game. Sadly they are in a minority, and at the other end of the scale there are some complete and utter cunts and thugs.
Yesterday saw David Luiz being kicked by Rafael. Rafael is no angel, so it serves him right that he got sent of for a kick on Luiz. However, Howard Web is a lot poorer as a referee these days, and it is without question that Luiz elbowed Rafael first, causing the loss of temper. Seeing Luiz pretend to be hurt was pathetic - though hardly surprising in the modern game.
Above you'll see what is arguably a normal state of affairs, with the scene on the pitch replicating a situation that the police normally have to deal with in the street, outside a nightclub. No surprise that David Luiz was involved, after his awful clash where he deliberately floored a stoke player. This time, Terry's role was more of an attempt at stopping violence! Blimey.
The above is a reminder of David Luiz's talents, in case you'd forgotten. Unfortunately he is so blatantly cynical, and we now know that it's not just physically, but with acting skills as well. His joy at fouling another player and then seeing him get sent off is hardly something to be applauded.

6.5.13 Viking River Cruises
All things come to an end in the world of TV, and yesterday saw the end of an eight-week run for Viking River Cruises. The 132 episodes of sheer mental torture, every Sunday for eight weeks have left me sure of one thing in this life - that I will never ever go on a fucking Viking River Cruise!
"Reveal the secrets of a great river cruise - Viking River Cruises sponsors mystery dramas on ITV." This, and variations of it that included "Reveal the secrets of Europe" have been haunting us all for ages, interspersed with sections of Foyle's War and Endeavour. I have no idea what the schedules have in store for us now, but am praying there is not further need for Viking River Cruises to eat at my brain.

5.5.13 Trampolines & Enjoyment
Trampolines
There is a completely disproportionate number of trampolines in the UK. Gardens everywhere are blighted by these fucking great circles with high sides to keep bouncers in a silo. Not content with eating up half the garden with a conservatory, the typical householder now sees it as essential to allocate another 30% to a monstrosity that simply kills grass and provides a sore for any eye.
Enjoyment
I resent people telling me to 'enjoy' something, especially when just the single fucking word is used. Twice yesterday I was advised/ordered to 'enjoy'. The first tome was at around 3pm when I was served some chips. In presenting the box of chips, the fat serving woman with less personality than leftover batter used the word so inappropriately; anyone would think she had served me with some fantastic creation. No, it was a mediocre portion of chips. As I was with Junior, I'd ordered a large portion for us to share. Seeing as I am in 'chip mode', I may as well express my dissatisfaction with the presentation. The establishment had chips available in sizes small, medium and large. I ordered a large, and watched puffer fish spoon the chips into a box. There were two sizes of empty boxes on the side counter, but evidently the larger of the two was reserved for orders of fish and chip. As I'd asked for chips, she selected the smaller box. This was adequate to cater for a small portion only; the medium portion would have rendered the box unclosable. The large portion rendered it unclosable and fucking useless as a chocolate fireguard, or indeed, a fucking chip container! I am sure they were designed for 6" pizzas. The fact that the larger box would have been perfect was what made me even more annoyed. Russell's Fish & Chip Restaurant - Chips = 7/10 Presentation = 3/10.
The second time I was expected to 'enjoy' something was at the behest of the fucking weather forecaster! Yes, that's right, the closing instruction from the stupid woman who'd bored the arse off me for two minutes and wound me up with her illiteracy and complete nonsense was the simply word 'enjoy', after she'd said temperatures could be as high as 22or 23 degrees. The fact that this was expected for Sunday in the London area, and that where I am was scheduled for 15 degrees meant her cuntish directive was a piss-take. I wish the fucking weather presenters would stick to telling us what the weather will be , and NOT to 'take care', 'enjoy', 'wrap up warm' or 'drive carefully'. Telling me to 'allow extra time' is a cheek - how do the cunts know how fast I drive?
In summary, then, I WILL DECIDE whether or not to enjoy something, and I will NOT be influenced by some twat telling me to enjoy anything. I think the next time someone dictates I'm to 'enjoy', I will dictate that they 'fall over' or 'die'.

4.5.13 TV Highlights of the Week
Food
My TV Guide is this week almost devoid of food programmes on the main channels. I say 'almost' because there are still many, but with Food Glorious Food having finished, and the marathon that was Masterchef finishing on Thursday night, we're left with remnants for the coming week. Just to confirm the bareness of the schedules, here's what's being served:
Saturday Farm
Saturday Kitchen Live
Nigel Slater's Simple (Suppers)
My Tasty Travels with Lynda Bellingham
Heston's Titanic Feast
Come Dine With Me [638 episodes]
Saturday Kitchen Best Bites
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares USA
What's Cooking?
The Hairy Bikers' Food Tour of Great Britain
Paul Hollywood's Bread
The Great British Bake Off: Masterclass
Chinese Food In Minutes
The Great British Bake Off
As you will appreciate, this is well below the level of cooking we've come to expect on terrestrial TV.
General
Saturday 4th
Pointless Celebrities With Esther Rantzen, John Virgo and Edith Bowman. Exactly - pointless indeed.
Sunday 5th
Escape To The Country Jules Hudson tries to find a couple their first home together with a budget of £750,000. Not much of a challenge, that - 'tries' indeed!
Monday 6th
Vicious Complete shit.
1001 Things You Should Know (1) Vicious is complete shit. (2) Not to watch this programme or even bother with the other 999 things.
Tuesday 7th
Embarrassing Bodies: Live from the Clinic Pixie McKenna focuses on mucus. Now that's entertainment, eh?
Wednesday 8th
Phil Spencer: Secret Agent The property expert finds a health hazard in a kitchen in Billericay and in Southend-on-Sea he discovers a home bathed in pink. [Last in series]. He hardly merits the title of 'Secret Agent'. James Bond he is NOT. A Quantum of Bollocks.
Thursday 9th
Nature's Weirdest Events Chris Packham investigates a frog that can bring itself back to life from a frozen state and a slimy creature responsible for a mysterious oceanic ooze. [Last in series] It's not at all clear whether the weirdness relates to the subject of his investigation (ie. the frog) or his own efforts with investigating. As for the second element of the programme, that's the pot calling the kettle black - one slimy creature to another!
Great British Railway Journeys Michael Portillo operates a 19th century signal box. Whoop-de-fucking-do! I though he'd gone for a rest, but here he is, still pissing about on trains.
Comment On A Tangent
What I find as disturbing is the incessant need, apparently, for us to witness well-known people trotting around and achieving fuck all. Others who are out-and-about this week include: (1) Lynda Bellingham, who as well as hosting 'Tasty Travels' on Saturday, is offering us on Sunday her 'Country House Sunday' shite involving her visiting stately homes. (2) The 'Coast' team, finding more fucking coastline than wrinkles on Bruce Forsythe's face. (3) John Sergeant wandering around and taking photographs. (4) Caroline Quentin, whom I think is still looking for a Cornish tin mine to fall down, alas unsuccessfully. (5) Rory Bremner, with his 'Great British Views'. I know he is talking about the scenic type of views, but I think there's space for a far more radical and entertaining programme in its place - TMWSC's Views, and there's fuck all that is scenic in that category. I would not need to wander around Great Britain to conclude with the simple view that the country is fucked-up.
Friday 10th
The A to Z of TV Gardening (R) Quite simply far too many letter in this programme detail. This episode is not in fact the one on the letter 'R'. We don't know what letter it is this Friday - the 'R' mean 'Repeat'. Ha!
PS. Sad News - Jeremy Wade still hasn't been eater by a big fish

4.5.13 Chinese Shenanigans
Thursday's attempt at an enjoyable evening meal was not successful. Yes, we did have some amusement, but not as a result of good food, good service or good value for money. Despite the name of the establishment being 'Hopewell Chinese Restaurant', a good experience was alas too much to hope for. I am toying with writing to the management with a suggestion of a name change - from 'Hopewell' to 'Hopeless'.
The first major obstacle was ordering the food. There were seven of us in the group, and we opted for 5 on the set £12.99 deal, and two on a normal menu. The deal meant a 4-course approach, although this was less than clear when we commenced operations. The initial complication was the soup; it turned out that soup is not a 'starter' as such, but a course wholly separate. So, the three soup requests were noted by the tiny woman who could only ever pronounce 63% of any word.
With two orders being of the non-soup variety, she enquired as to whether these were starters or main courses, instantly confusing us because of course they were fucking starters! We exchanged vowels with the woman taking notes, and threw in a couple of consonants to make ourselves understood, while under my breathe some expletives were lurking. After a nightmare exchange lasting two minutes, we were able to add two non-soup pre-starters to the starters and move on to the ordering of starters. This became a challenge for all concerned. Unfortunately the complete dysfunctionality was swamping the table because the fucked-up process of ordering fucking food was grating severely on my patience. The kind way to describe things would be that all was rather less than satisfactory. The accurate way would be to say that if there was a pig's ear on the menu, we were fucking getting it FOC, up front! The little smiling woman was no more than a little smiling woman, and alas devoid of the ability to express herself. This was the chink in her armour, and it was scuppering all efforts to order food.
I was on the verge of lobbing a tenner on to the table for the drinks, and walking out. We could all have left then and there, heading for the Indian round the corner where a fucking Jalfrezzi was no doubt begging to be eaten. The Indian's loss was the Hopethisfuckingworksout's gain. We ordered various starters and had them recorded as such by Ho Pwell, who scribbled on her pad, glowed red and said something like: "whaaar, i, yoo, ike or chi aw ice".
Me moved on to the main course, which involved six requests for Chinese food (five on the 'deal' plus one stand alone request for a Vulcan/Veggie requirement [Thai Green something-or-other that immediately made me think of Mild Green Fairy Liquid], and one for 'roast chicken and chips', surely the most straightforward order in the universe. Eventually, two dynasties later, we felt we stood a fighting chance of eating before starvation set in. Ho Pwell shuffled off, and we continued drinking.
The soups appeared in due course [forgive the pun] and I ate/drank my chicken and sweetcorn. Mrs MWSC was able to consume the Wonton with wanton determination. Elsewhere, liquid chicken with yellow bits was also consumed. The ribs and something unpronouncable (by us but not Ho Pwell) was consumed whilst two of the party were left to watch and remain hungry.
What confused everyone was the large plate that appeared centre table, full of stuff we had not ordered. This communal starter provided the ribs and chicken satay and roasted who-knows-what, plus astroturf that was perhaps seaweed, or Christmas decoration material. This was a distinct possibility considering the background music included not only the DIRE "I Just Called To Say I Loved You" but the equally inappropriate (for May 2nd) "Last Christmas" by Wham!
Ho Pwell hopped around as another table filled and she scattered vowels to her heart's content. Six of our group of seven took in some calories, while the Vulcan observed, still awaiting some Mild Green stuff. I must say that the duck was not too bad, even if it wasn't crispy. The pancakes were awful, but I managed quite well with the spring onions and cucumber that went with it - and left well alone the plum tarmac that was serving [forgive yet another pun] as the sauce/goo for the Chinese 'fajita'. Other started to consume their food as well. Finally we got to a stage whereby the unexpected/un-ordered mixed starters had been eaten along with the starters that had been ordered. So far, so mediocre and slightly delayed.
We'd been in the place for at least an hour. The Vulcan/Veggie was seriously at risk of eating Ho Pwell, such was her appetite by this stage. Little Ho [short - indeed so - for Little Hope of Being Satisfied] arrived with a menu and announced that there was no roast chicken. Yes, folks, after a ludicrous and deceitful delay, the chicken was not available. Strangely there were, by way of replacement, many chicken wings that had to be ordered instead.
After all meat-eaters had received their main courses, Ho arrived with the Thai Green Fairy Liquid, and the Vulcan/Vegan/Veggie was able to at last eat. Hallelujah !! Or, as I actually said, "Halle-fuckin-Bhudda" which was completely inaccurate/ inappropriate, but fucking funny at the time.
My own choice was Singapore Noodles, and I was presently (but not pleasantly - and I don't mean that as Ho would have said it) inspecting my bale of hay which had within it no needles but a few scraps of meat. No one finished his or her food. There was simply far too much; some was nice and some was of dubious quality. Ho begrudgingly allowed one of the party to take away the 80% of her uneaten main course, and showed displeasure with her facial expression as she took it away to put it in a bag.
The drawn out process was finally rounded off with the presentation of the £107.95 bill which was not itemised. With £108 left on the saucer, we exited with every intention of not repeating the experience in this lifetime. We could have spent £50 at home, which would have got us 15 cans of lager, and £41 worth of takeaway. Ordering would have been a 2 minute process, and the delivery man would have arrived so much more quickly than Ho.

2.5.13 McDonald's Deficiency
It is simply amazing how 'skinflint' the McDonald's Corporation is. In the UK, the area devoted to the toilets is at best 'tiny' and at worst 'criminally fucking minute'. Blokes have long since had to deal with just two bowls to piss into - one set at normal height and one at lower level to cater for kids. Separate from the two urinals, there's a small cubicle where anyone under 12 stone can manage to shit. Anyone larger than this will struggle even to enter the cubicle, and considering that McDonald's food encourages people to become fat cunts, the facilities are completely at odds with the effect of the food on human size and weight!
So, only three people (male) per establishment can use the loo at any one time. This assumes that one is a child, and that none of the three is obese. As 30% of customers are obese, then there is an effect on the space available when any fat cunt uses the loo. If a fat cunt does want to piss, then he will have to stand at the higher of the two urinals. This will render the kid-sized one out of bounds, do to encroachment. That will mean it's only possible for one more slim person to go to the loo - in the cubicle. If a kid is pissing and a fat cunt arrives, then he will not be able to go, as to enter the loo (enough of a challenge) is the limit of his ability because to approach a urinal is impossible if a kid is standing at the small one. The cubicle is of course inaccessible.
All of this has been the case for a fair while, and on average, the maximum number of humans in a male loo at McDonald's at any one time has been '2', and even then there is a 'discomfort' because of the proximity which is unnerving. Until this week, I've never thought about the issues arising from hand washing and hand drying. I was forced, though, to address this after a visit to the McDonald's at Junction 11 of the M42. I was able to use the loo without interference (in any way!) other than the awkward entry to the loo because of the biker standing at the sink combing his hair. I positioned myself to have a pee and he left a few seconds later. After I'd finished, I washed my hands and then looked for the hand dryer in this TINY space. It was positioned in the most LUDICROUS place ever conceived by anyone positioning a hand dryer in the history of the modern world. It was against the wall opposite the single sink, behind the door, and so close to the main/large urinal that it would literally blow on a dick if there was one there! Should anyone be pissing, then a person drying hands would be eight inches from a 'fondle'! This is fucking madness! Heaven help anyone venturing to dry his hands while the urinal is being used. Not only is there the awful embarrassment of the closeness, but a severe fucking risk - anyone opening the door would knock into the one drying his hands, and he'd be guilty of an unintentional indecent act.
This outrageous design is unbelievable. I invite anyone to visit this McDonald's and not draw the conclusion that the designers are useless cunts and that the awkwardness of managing in this confined space if you're not completely on your own is at a level unsurpassable!!!!!
